BMI Calculator

Welcome to our BMI calculator! Most insurances use BMI as one of several criteria for eligibility for weight loss surgery.  Additionally BMI is often used to track progress during weight loss.  You can calculate your BMI by inputting your weight and height into the calculator below.

Understanding Metric vs. Imperial Units:

Before you can go about calculating your BMI, it’s important to know the difference between Metric and Imperial units. The choice between these systems depends on your location and personal preferences.

Metric System

This system uses kilograms (kg) for weight and meters (m) for height. It’s widely adopted in most countries around the world.

Imperial System

In the United States, the Imperial system is commonly used. It employs pounds (lb) for weight and feet (ft) and inches (in) for height. If you’re in the U.S., you might find it more convenient to use the Imperial system.
